Recently was awarded a Conservation Innovation Grant to Study and Promote Conservation Tillage in Furrow Irrigated Continuous Corn

Erik Wardle and Troy Bauder with the University successfully landed a innovative grant to transfer new skills and methodology for furrow irrigating farmers to reduce erosion, improve soil quality and water quality in runoff and improve profits. These scientists along with several other contributing researchers, industry leaders, local farmers and two local conservation districts are ready to start a three year program this fall.

A meeting was held with several of the key players involved to further set the priorities and goals that will spread the news and educate growers in Front Range area of Colorado and down the South Platte Valley. Orthman Manufacturing will be right in the thick of the studies and sharing/educating people to promote the strip-till system which is a big part of this project. We will be keeping you informed all along, when field days and times we get to the field so other growers can see and touch the process.
